What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

Account information — email address and authentication credentials.
Content — crawl recordings, screenshots, action logs, and reports generated through the service.
Usage data — crawl counts and feature usage to manage the service.
Uploaded files — APK and XAPK files you upload for crawling. These are stored temporarily for the duration of the crawl.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the AppCrawl service:

To authenticate your account.
To install, explore, and record applications on your behalf.
To store and serve crawl recordings, screenshots, and reports.
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, crawl notifications).
To monitor and fix errors in the service.

Third-party services

We use the following categories of third-party services to operate AppCrawl:

Cloud storage — screenshots and videos are stored using S3-compatible cloud storage.
Cloud devices — app exploration runs on cloud-based Android devices provided by a third-party service.
AI services — we use large language models (via OpenRouter) to power the intelligent app exploration. Screenshots are sent to the AI service for UI analysis.
Authentication providers — if you sign in with GitHub, we receive your email from GitHub.
Error monitoring — we use Honeybadger to track and resolve application errors. Error reports may include request metadata but not your content.

AI and screenshot processing

During app crawling, screenshots of the explored application are sent to AI services for UI element detection and navigation decisions. These screenshots contain content from the application being crawled, not your personal data.

We do not use your data or crawl results to train AI models.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use any third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies.

What we don't do

We do not use Google Analytics or any other external analytics tools.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not use your crawl data or screenshots to train AI models.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Screenshots and videos are stored using S3-compatible cloud storage in the United States.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion by contacting support, which will permanently remove all your data including crawl recordings, screenshots, and reports.

Uploaded APK files are deleted after crawl completion.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
